  • 60 ml hot water (75–80°C, not boiling)

  • 150 ml milk (plant-based or dairy, according to your taste; oat and almond work wonderfully)

  • 1 teaspoon honey, maple syrup, or agave (optional for those with a sweet tooth)

  1. Sift the matcha into a bowl to avoid lumps.

  2. Add hot water. Whisk vigorously with a chasen (bamboo whisk) or a small kitchen whisk until a fine foam forms.

  3. Heat the milk (or froth it if possible).
